Under Fives Roundabout Pre-School group meets each weekday during term-time in the mornings between 9:15 and 11:45 and in the afternoons between 12:30 and 3:00 at Mayfield Primary School, Warwick Road, Cambridge. There is also a lunch club from 11:45 to 12:30 with children bringing their own lunch.

The Pre-School caters for children in their pre-school year (the year beginning in the September before the child turns four). It has two qualified and experienced staff, supported by another member of staff and a volunteer parent / carer, who plan activities carefully to provide a variety of appropriate and interesting activities for the children.

It has been said that play is a child's work. While playing with other children and staff, children can apply and challenge their existing knowledge. We aim to help children develop intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially through play. Our curriculum is based on the Early Learning Goals stated in the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum, preparing children to progress with confidence to school.

A typical morning might include:

09:15 Free play, registration and introduction to the day's activities
10:25 Tidy up time (everyone helping)
10:30 Storytime / Music and movement
11:00 Outdoor play
11:30 Indoors for circle time / Show and tell / songs
11:45 Finish
Snack time is free flowing from 9:30 to 10:25.

The cost per session is £8.20 and Nursery Education Funding is available the term after the child's third birthday. The lunch club costs £3.00 per day.

Nursery Education Funding: - All children are eligible to up to 5 x 2.5 hour sessions of childcare a week during term-time from the term after their third birthday. Roundabout will apply for this for you.
